Tokyo 7 – Koenji

as I already wrote in my last post on thursday I went to Koenji after classes finished

so have some pictures now – just a bunch of impressions to get an idea – it’s full on tiny houses and streets and backstreets of backstreets (and boys and that’s a stupid joke but Tokyo is plastered with their posters so I had to make it) ~
tiny & fine

Tokyo 6 – University started

and I totally failed the exam~ I have to catchup on my Kanji again! it's all lost… but I didn't take a serious look at them for two years… so being in the upper half of the whole is still good & my vocabulary is less bad than I thought it would be

so, yesterday was introduction & campus tour – I didn't really took any pictures~ so no, no pictures from yesterday (or the day before, which was Odaiba & Shibuya with a lovely friend! maybe later) – but I went to Shibya afterwards to get some writing materials, Tokyu Hands is a paradies – you like handicrafts, this is your place! (I still bought ost of the stuff at a 100yen shop) but what I actually wanted to talk about was the weather or rather the light~ it's rainy here and the rain combined with the sunset and the smog created the most beautiful & at the same time strange light I've ever experienced – yellowish & orange, to cause any shade of green to glow and other colours to dim. fascinating but impossible to take a decent picture of…
another fascinating thing, which is quite normal, the sunset is so early here! I knew it before but I am still surprised…

today we had the first 4 hours of language classes – I really need to catch up on Kanji…

and then: Kimono-Experience
something I kind of worried about, being all blond & blue eyed and so not asian AT ALL. and honestly, I've never even worn a Dirndl (but yeah, why should I, I am not bavarian…) or something else "traditional"

but although it was incredible hot to wear I felt comfortable and mature and elegant (nevertheless "in disguise")

I am going to show you some detail-pictures of Kimonos, Obis (the belts), hair-dos and embroideries – basically all the fabric you see is pure silk: lots of colour & silk

Tokyo 3 – fair & fairies

Tokyo BIG Site in Odaiba – a truly earned name~ this place is HUGE! and we only went into one part of this thing:

we? my lovely host & her music-collegues who had a concert there during a fair named: Handmade in Japan Fes 2013:

yes that’s my knee & my free pass – staff XD back stage groupie as I like to name it

but to be fair, one of the musicians was Kohki-kun and at least with him I worked on some songs, even if it was two years ago & even if they didn’t play them today~
Riho-chan (trumpet), Kazuya-kun (Shinobue), Kohki-kun (guitare) and Rinamame (Drums – not sure if this is her real name… I snatched it from fb because I am bad at remembering names) plus a manager & a photographer
a lovely & professional team!

they played and afterwards we were running all over the place to look at the handmade stuff… ALL kinds of stuff~ it was really difficult to settle for one thing – but in the end I managed ^^ *not saying*

impressions:

sky-pompoms

I want to have his shoes…

all with closed eyes (can’t see Kohki-kuns though)

otsukaresamadeshita – ha! I didn’t do a thing but I like to share the treat …it’s never to early for a cold beer

I had the middle left one – Organic brown cheese tacorice XD yupp, tasty

the entrance to the fair… just the entrance…

more sky-pompoms plus fake-leafs

Hachimitsu-Soda – Soda with honey & some fruit *tasty*

I left the fair around 6 – the sky was beautiful in Odaiba:

and also in Yoyogi:

where huge groups of young people trained some kind of group dance… for a festival I guess~

now I am back in the apartment, it’s comfortable since it cooled down a bit thanks to some nice wind

Good Night & お休みなさい~

Tokyo 2 – be aware!

of crazy german bikers in Tokyo!
Ha! I bought myself a used bicycle (which I want to resell afterwards, so if somebody wants to have it…)

my view of the world

cute desu ne~

DSCF7557

during my morning ride thru Yoyogi Koen – which is beautiful and all, but the huge amount of crows is creepy & the semi are annoyingly loud…

and today I went from Yoyogi where I stay (at a tiny but lovely place with great food & music) to Meiji-Daigaku at Ochanomizu-eki

which took an hour… I think I wont to this every day~
and I drove back on an even longer round!

the building in the middle is the place where am I going to study starting next week ^^

impressions from the emperial gardens~ still closed, but they will open on the 27th of July, so I will try going in then…

she was standing next to the emperial palace – with a nameplate: 森の調べ - sound of the woods

this is for – I know you want it

pic a day 20 – Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin

so~  it's not at all daily – I utterly failed on this task…

and no, not really just one pic… today as well~

but may it be

it's raining raining raining outside – half of Germany is litteraly drowning right now

the second of June and we have 12 °C outside~ so what to do? right! visit a museum like you didn't do it during the whole dark & drey winter~

we went to Neue Nationalgalerie – Mies van der Rohe building, his last work – wonderfully design into the last bit – toilets, I am always interested how much they fit the rest – there you can find a concept build as a whole

the exhibition at the moment consists mainly of art from Germany – east and west – between 1945 and 1968 -showcasting it's differences and simliarities

the pictures I took are concentrating of the room not on the art:

the free standing presentation created wonderful shadows – and I love this piece, the niche of an artists studio (sorry, I forgot the name of the artist, but he was from eastern Germany)

DSCF7319

the outer area was closed due to the constant rain – but I wanted to show the impression while making sure the separating wall of glass stays visible

b/w that's Rodin in the middleground

DSCF7329
DSCF7330

this one I really like – the reflection of the art inside combines with the greenery and light outside

DSCF7331

those seethrough gaps where also covered with glass – they created some interesting perpectives

DSCF7334
DSCF7343

I loved this installation – light, sound, movement

DSCF7345
DSCF7347

while leaving the room of the installation this is the first thing you see – wonderful colours and proportions

DSCF7348

another view into the outer area – the walls are all movable – so every time the exhibition changes the arrangment of the room changes as well

look at those colours – light is something incredible

DSCF7349

that's plain and simple – but somehow it moved me

DSCF7353

told you – the entry to the toilet

DSCF7356

the days slowly coming to an end~

next week summer is suppossed to be back – we will see, I will show you

good night*
